Hull, Machinery & Condition Surveys :-
We have carried out an extensive number of Condition surveys for various clients, including Owner's, Charterers, P&I Clubs, Class Society, Ship Management Companies, & prospective buyers.
The scope of these surveys has covered preparation for Special Survey, including steelwork renewal assessments, Assessment of Structural Hull, Machinery, and Fire Damage, Sale/Purchase, Valuation, Shipyard/Repair disputes, Conversion/Modification etc., including the following :-
On/Off hire surveys, Sale/Purchase, & Condition surveys on Tugs, Ro-Ro/freight and passenger ferries, passenger vessels, mini-bulkers, reefer vessels, dredgers, bulk carriers, self unloaders, container vessels, LPG carriers, product carriers, chemical tankers, OBO's, FPSO’s, Jack Up Rig, Shuttle Tankers, and VLCC's.
Typical commissions received include the following :-
Structural condition surveys, including tank rafting inspection & Ultrasonic thickness measurement of steelwork prior to Special Survey, and preparation of repair specifications.
Inspection of extent and necessity of steelwork renewals carried out during special survey drydocking on 120,000dwt tanker on behalf of owners, during dispute with repair yard.
Inspection of structural steelwork, including ultrasonic thickness measurement, and preparation of specification for 520mt steelwork renewals for 4th Special Survey, on 93,000dwt crude oil carrier on passage between Korea and China.
Condition inspection of trailing suction hopper dredger prior to 5th Special Survey, including assessment of extent of repairs & costs for completion of Special Survey, and overall assessment of further requirements for life extension.
Condition inspections on a series of 40,000dwt self unloaders on the Great Lakes.
Condition inspection of a fleet of Passenger/RoRo ferries on the UK & cross-channel short sea trades.
Pre-Purchase condition inspection during lay-up of an Egyptian flag passenger vessel.
Inspection of 25,000dwt product carrier, including Inert Gas plant and tank cleaning installation, on behalf of Underwriters, after a serious fire/explosion involving fatalities.
Attendance as owners representative at factory acceptance trials for a series of gas compressors for a fleet of LPG carriers.
